Rain, rain go away.

Today is a dreary day in Detroit, so here's a little face full o' sunshine in an adorable yellow raincoat to bring the world some joy:

Would you like fries with that?

Remember Sans Pants Pam? Yes, well it would seem that in addition to her love of skirted frocks, she also has a thing for Martha. As in Stewart. Yeah, I don't get it either.

But anyway, she was recording some of her latest cooking gems and found this loverly episode:

What would you serve with that? A nice, tall glass of warm whiz?

Martha fail.

Boys are weird.

Maybe it's because Kelli and I forced Kyle to play too many "girl" games growing up - like Barbie Mania extraordinaire - but I really do not understand "boy" games and how to "play" them.

Take, for instance, Legos. Joey is obsessed with them. And when I say obsessed I do mean that just as I cannot go to DSW without perusing the size 7.5 clearance section 17 times, we cannot go to ANY store that sells Legos without at least taking a saunter down the aisle to "oooh" and "aaah" over the newest collections.

But back to Legos. You open the box. You follow the directions (creativity much?). And then what? You look at it?

And what about trucks? Alex LOVES anything on wheels, and every night we make at least 12 laps around the house with Hot Wheels, monster trucks, and a random Mr. Potato Head. Don't ask. But when I try to make it a "game" or into something more interactive (like crashing, races, ramps, etc.) he'll have none of it. He just wants to crawl around the house making "vrrrrrrrrroooom" noises.

Now...dolls I get. You can feed them, clothe them, take them places. Dress up? I totally get it. Beauty Salon? Bring it on. Girl games get me.

The irony of all this is that if we have another baby, I would love to have another boy. My life surrounded by trucks and Legos and other smelly/dirty boy things delights me. I find them oddly lovable.

In summary, Boys > Girls. Except when it comes to shoes.

Have your cake and eat it, too.

Hiya, peeps! It's Alex today...blogging on behalf of Mommy. I wanted to tell you all about my SUPER cool birthday!

It started when Mommy and Daddy brought me and all my daycare friends Happy Meals at lunch to celebrate.

When they picked me up, I got to go get my haircut from a real barber (just like Daddy). He made my hair spiky and gave me gold hairspray!

The next day I celebrated with my family at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum.

Then I got to eat caaaaake and open very fun presents!

At the end of the day, I was pooped! Being two is HARD WORK!

Two is the bees knees.

Pardon me...but when did I blink? Because for sure at some point between April 15, 2009 and RIGHT THIS SECOND, I blacked out (most likely from a good bottle of tequila) and lost all sense of time. Today my baby turns TWO. And quite frankly, that's just simply not possible.

Because just yesterday, he was doing this:

And I'm pretty sure the day after that, he did this:

And the day after that, this:

And now, in what seems like just one day later, he looks like this:

I have loved and cherished and laughed through every nanosecond of his little life. He's a delight. A joy. A comedian. A snuggler. A monkey. And, at times, a handful. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a Mom. I love being his Mom. It doesn't get any better than this.

Happy birthday, my Son. You made me more than I ever thought I could be. You made me a Mom.

Videos and an apology.

Fun with socks and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Also, don't you just LOVE my new bedspread?!? I do.

Amy is his new bff. We have no idea who she is.

I will likely be MIA (like the Bronx Zoo snake) for a week or so. Very busy week at work. Also, Joey had shoulder surgery on Friday, so I'm moonlighting as a nurse. More on that later...

Spring's spring is stuck. Also, I love shoes.

Spring has not, in fact, sprung. The Slinky in the spring seems to be broken and I'm super pissed about it. It SNOWED today. So uncool, Mother Nature.

In the spirit of spring and all things cute and colorful and just plain starting a revolt, I bought a new pair of shoes. Not the ones pictured at left. Better.
I scored these beauts while shopping with The Momma over the weekend. Who knew Fergie made shoes? And that her brand is called "Fergalicious"? AND that all of her shoes have little crowns on them! It's as if the entire brand was made for yours truly.

Happiness. Eat that, snow.
