Shameless post.

It's been awhile since I've done one of my typical, shameless posts asking you to vote for something or another, so I figure today is the day.

As you all know, I'm one of Target's greatest customers, and they do great things as far as donating to communities, schools and education. Through their "Give with Target" program running right now via Facebook, you just have to vote for a school (nothing else - no signups, social security numbers, blood donations, etc.) and after the first 25 votes are received, that school gets $25...and for every vote after that, another $1 up to their $5M in planned donations. It sounds hard, but it's actually quite cinchy.

Anyway, both my brother and SIL work at a great little school in Clio, Mich. called Garner Elementary. Do us all a favor and vote for Garner to get some much-needed moolah, please?

Click here to cast your vote.

You can vote 1x/week until Sept. 21 & can also tweet about it to spread the word - use #GiveWithTarget.

Is bV going to be a girl? Or a boy? Or a shy baby?

Since the big day is fast approaching, I've put a poll on the right side of the blog to see what you people all think bV is going to be. Boy? Girl? Or no news?

If it helps, Joey thinks girl. My Dad is convinced it's a girl. And my best friend's Mom would probably bet a limb on it being a girl. So the odds are not in favor of a boy, but we all know Alex would REALLY love a little brother. And for what it's worth, my Dad was also 100% sure Alex was a girl. So there's that.

So, what do you think? Answer the poll to the right!

And the winner is...

I just realized those who don't follow me on Facebook don't know who won the big election at Mrs. Davis' Daycare. Watch to learn!

America!

While many of us have been preoccupied by the national election, the REALLY IMPORTANT election will be held at Alex's Daycare today! Who will be their official daycare mascot? I invite you to meet the candidates...

The Dog Party: Meet Clifford, the Big Red Dog. According to Aunt Jane, those who have chosen the Dog Party Candidate like his cute tail, his nose, paws, big eyes and red floppy ears. They also say he is a really nice dog.

The Dinosaur Party: Meet Barney, the Dinosaur. I'm told that those who have made Barney their candidate like that he is big and purple, a nice green belly, and a friendly smile. He likes kids too.

Additionally, their respective poll workers will be passing out treats in an attempt to sway last minute voters.

And as each child practices his or her right to a Daycare vote, the official Mrs. Davis' Daycare mascot will be chosen. Viva la democracy!

In related news, I'm told that Alex is a fervent supporter of Clifford. And as such, he's taken on the role of campaign manager. Joey's never been prouder.
